Bhubaneswar, Jan 05: The concluding day of Krushi Odisha 2025 witnessed a grand valedictory ceremony held at the Biju Patnaik Playground here.
The three-day event, organized by the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Empowerment (DA&FE), Government of Odisha, successfully showcased innovative practices and opportunities in the agriculture and horticulture sectors. It culminated with remarkable highlights, including the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the felicitation of farmers and other stakeholders.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Arabinda Padhee, Principal Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment delivered an insightful address on the transformation of agriculture in the state.
He emphasized the adoption of science and evidence-driven practices to make agriculture more resilient and sustainable.
Deputy Chief Minister, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo highlighted the state’s focus on the business transformation of agriculture and its vision to position Odisha as a model state in agriculture, driven by innovation, strategic planning, and sustainable growth.
A significant milestone of the ceremony was the signing of an MoU with 11 exporters, aimed at boosting the export of agricultural and horticultural produce from the state.
Facilitated by the Directorate of Horticulture with technical support from Palladium Consulting India Pvt. Ltd., the MoU reflects Odisha’s strategic vision to position itself as a leader in agricultural exports. This collaboration is expected to open new avenues for farmers, ensuring better market access, fair pricing, and global recognition for the state’s produce.
The ceremony also celebrated the achievements of awardee farmers, recognizing their contributions and inspiring others to adopt innovative and sustainable practices. Winners of various competitions, including quiz, debate, poem recitation, storytelling, and skits, were felicitated, highlighting the cultural and intellectual engagement fostered by the event.
An experience-sharing session by one of the awardee farmers Sudarshan Mohanty from Keojhar resonated with the audience, showcasing real-life examples of success and resilience in agriculture.
