Ekamra Utsav kicks off in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Jan 7: The highly anticipated Ekamra Utsav, organized by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), officially began on Monday at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar. The colorful and vibrant event, which will run until January 16, is dedicated to promoting health and culture in conjunction with the celebrations of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2025.

Key highlights: 

Event launch: The Ekamra Utsav, organized by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), began on Monday at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar.

Duration: The festival will run until January 16, 2025, and is focused on promoting health and culture.

Connection to Pravasi Bharatiya Divas: The Utsav is aligned with the celebrations of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2025, which begins tomorrow.

Venue: The event is being held across five iconic parks in Bhubaneswar:

•             Madhusudan Park

•             Indira Gandhi Park

•             Buddha Park

•             Forest Park

•             Abdul Kalam Park

Cultural celebrations: The festival aims to unite the Indian diaspora while showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage.

Park illumination: The parks are beautifully lit with vibrant decorations, creating a lively atmosphere for evening performances.

Nightly performances: A specially constructed stage hosts nightly cultural shows featuring performances by singers and children, with various cultural themes.

Seating arrangements: Comfortable seating has been arranged for visitors to enjoy the evening events.

Upcoming events: Starting today, the Rajarani Music Festival and Mukteswar Dance Festival will add to the festival’s grandeur.

External Affairs Minister visit: Dr. S. Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister, has arrived in Bhubaneswar ahead of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations.

Dr. Jaishankar will visit the Puri Jagannath Temple and Konark Sun Temple today, before heading to Dhauli later.
