Bhubaneswar, Nov 13: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said that a low pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours.
The weather department added that the system is likely to intensify into a depression around November 16. Under its influence, rainfall is likely to occur in several parts of Odisha from November 15.

“A Low Pressure Area is likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours. It is likely to move west northwestwards and intensify into a depression over Central & adjoining South Bay of Bengal around 16th November, 2023,” the IMD said in its bulletin issued this morning.
The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has issued the following forecast:
November 15: Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over South Coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur districts and at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara districts. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest of Odisha.
November 16: Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over Coastal Odisha, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar districts and at one or two places over Angul, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri districts. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest of Odisha.
November 17: Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over North Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri districts and at one or two places over Sundargarh, Deogarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Nawarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri districts. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest of Odisha.
November 18: Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over North Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar districts. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest of Odisha.
