Bhubaneswar: Odisha FC Women’s team has added some Indian firepower to its ranks with the signing of 16-year-old midfielder Tanvi Nair. Born on March 8, 2008, Tanvi started playing football with her brothers and neighbours. Her journey in professional football began in 2020 with Bengaluru FC, where she spent four formative years as a youth player.

During her time with Bengaluru FC, Tanvi played an integral role in the team’s success, helping it secure the KSFA ‘A’ Division Championship in 2023, which qualified them for the prestigious Karnataka Women’s League. Her exceptional performances earned her the Best Midfielder award in the recently concluded 2024 Karnataka Women’s League. Additionally, she captained the Blues' women’s team.

Tanvi will now play her trade for Odisha FC in her debut IWL season. Her addition bolsters the OFC ranks as the Kalinga warriors look to defend their IWL title.

Technical Assistant, Joy Gabriel: "Tanvi will grow up to be one of India's best players in future without doubt. There are some things in football which are natural, either you have it or you don't. She has incredible technique and game awareness but needs to improve vastly on physical aspects. I'm confident that coach Crispin will bring out the full potential in the player. We thank Bengaluru FC who have nurtured such a talented youngster who will be an asset for the Indian women's football team."
