Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 26: On the last ‘Amrit Snan' of the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 which coincides with the auspicious Maha Shivaratri today, devotees from across the country thronged the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj in wee hours of Wednesday.
Drone visuals captured a vast crowd of devotees at the Triveni Sangam, gathering to take a holy dip on the final day of Maha Kumbh. Over 1 crore devotees are anticipated to gather for the final Amrit Snan on Wednesday.
The Uttar Pradesh government has put in place extensive measures to manage the massive influx of pilgrims on the final day of Maha Kumbh, including designating the Mela area as a no-vehicle zone starting Tuesday evening.
Since the commencement of the Maha Kumbh on January 13, nearly 64 crore devotees have taken a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers converge.
There have been a total of five ‘Amrit Snans’ till date, January 13, 14, 29, February 3 and 12 with the last being observed today.
The first Amrit Snan on Paush Purnima took place on January 13, followed by sacred dips on Makar Sankranti (January 14), Mauni Amavasya (January 29), Basant Panchami (February 3), Maghi Purnima (February 12), and concluding with the final Snan on Maha Shivaratri (February 26).
