Cuttack, Feb 8: In a tragic incident, a man and his five-year-old son were killed and his wife sustained injuries after the bike they were traveling on was hit by a speeding truck at Sikharpur area in Odisha’s Cuttack today.
The identities of the deceased persons are yet to be ascertained.
As per reports, the mishap occurred when the trio was coming to Cuttack from Kendrapara and the speeding truck hit them. Following the mishap, the driver of the truck fled from the spot.
As a result, the man and his five-year-old son sustained grave injuries. They were rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in critical condition where they succumbed to their injuries during treatment.
The health condition of the woman is stated to be stable.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the spot and launched a probe into the matter. The cops seized the bodies of the victims and sent them for post-mortem.
