Bhubaneswar, Jan 1: The newly-appointed Governor of Odisha, Hari Babu Kambhampati, is set to arrive in Bhubaneswar tomorrow for oath-taking ceremony on Jan 3. Following his arrival, Kambhampati will visit Puri to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath.
Kambhampati, 71, who is currently serving as the Governor of Mizoram, will take the oath of office as the new Governor of Odisha on January 3, 2025. He succeeds Raghubar Das, who resigned from the position earlier this year.
A highly qualified individual, Kambhampati is an engineer and an educator with extensive experience in politics. He spent 24 years as an Associate Professor at Andhra University Engineering College, where he made significant contributions to the academic development of engineering students, equipping them with the skills necessary for their professional careers.
Kambhampati's appointment follows the resignation of Raghubar Das, whose resignation was accepted by the President of India on October 18, 2023. President Droupadi Murmu subsequently appointed Kambhampati as the new Governor of Odisha.
