Firstly, The Resistance Front (TRF), identified as a front organization for the banned Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist group, reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack. Secondly, initial investigations, based on victim and eyewitness accounts, suggest the involvement of four terrorists dressed in camouflage, including two believed to be foreign nationals. This preliminary evidence challenges Pakistan's assertion of non-involvement.
The denial and subsequent Indian skepticism occur against a backdrop of recently heightened rhetoric. Just a week prior to the attack, Pakistan's Army Chief, General Asim Munir, made provocative remarks referring to Kashmir as Pakistan's "jugular vein" and reaffirming support for the "Kashmiri brothers," statements rooted in the two-nation theory. India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) sharply rebuked these comments, reiterating Kashmir's status as an integral part of India and calling for Pakistan to vacate illegally occupied territories.
