Bhubaneswar, Apr 23: The body of Odia tourist Prashant Satpathy, who was killed in the horrific terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam that claimed lives of 28 civilians, will arrive in Bhubaneswar today evening.
As per the Office of the Resident Commissioner of Odisha in New Delhi, Prashant’s body is expected to arrive in Delhi from Srinagar at 2:35 PM today. It will then be flown to Bhubaneswar on a late evening flight and scheduled arrive at around 9:45 PM.
According to sources, Prashant is a resident of Balasore district and was on a family vacation with his wife and son.
Prashant’s family is expected to receive his body at the Bhubaneswar airport, after which his last rites will be conducted.
It is worth mentioning that Prashant, his wife Priyadarshini, and their nine-year-old son were getting off a ropeway in Pahalgam when terrorists suddenly opened fire.
The attack caused panic and destruction. In the chaos, Prashant was shot in the head and unfortunately died from his injuries.
Notably, as many as 28 civilians, mostly tourists, were killed when terrorists opened fire at Baisaran, a well-known meadow near the resort town of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, around 3 PM on Tuesday.
Among those who died were an Indian Navy officer and a member of the Intelligence Bureau.
