Kalahandi, Feb 8: Mystery shrouded over the death of a youth after his body was found floating in a pond in Jaypatna locality of Odisha’s Kalahandi district today.
The deceased has been identified as Pramod Nayak (31) and the incident has been reported from Gandhigrampada under Jaypatna police limits in the district.
According to Pramod’s family members, he received a phone call around 8 pm following which he went out and did not return home.
Worried about his whereabouts, his family members launched a frantic search but were unable to find him.
Later, his body was found floating in a pond. Upon getting the information, police arrived at the spot and fished out the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
Though the exact reason behind Pramod’s death is yet to be ascertained, his family members have alleged that he has been murdered.
They further added that Pramod was having a dispute with some people due to some issue during the recent Dhanuyatra festival in the village and alleged that the killing might be the fallout of that incident.
Further investigation into the incident is underway.
