Bhubaneswar, February 13: At least 35 passengers were injured after a bus ferrying kumbh pilgrims hit a truck on Thursday.
The accident took place on Bihar-Uttar Pradesh border last night.
According to report, over 70 people reportedly from Odisha’s Balasore district were travelling to Prayagraj in a private bus to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela. Meanwhile, the bus hit a sand-laden dumper truck from behind at around 12.50 AM.
Locals rescued the injured passengers and admitted them to the nearest hospital for treatment. One critically injured person was shifted to the ICU as he had severe head injuries.
Police initiated an investigation into the matter and launched a manhunt to nab the driver, who vanished after the incident.
