Odisha cadre IAS appointed as Secretary to President of India

New Delhi, Aug 18: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of senior IAS officer Rajesh Verma as Secretary to the President of India. Verma, a 1987-batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre is currently posted as the Secretary of Ministry of Corporate Affairs additional charge of the Financial Services Secretary. Murmu on July 25 had taken oath as the 15th President of India. Murmu became the 15th President of India after she secured 2824 first preference votes-value of which is 6,76,803, while her rival Yashwant Sinha clinched 1,877 first preference votes– value of which is 3,80,177 votes.
