Bhubaneswar, Dec 19: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi began a five-day visit to New Delhi and Rajasthan on Thursday, during which he is set to attend several official meetings, according to sources from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).
Majhi departed from Bhubaneswar on Thursday evening. He will spend the night in New Delhi. On Friday, he will travel to Jaipur, Rajasthan. During his time in Rajasthan, the Chief Minister is scheduled to participate in the pre-budget consultation meeting and the 55th GST Council meeting, which will take place in Jaisalmer on December 21.
On the same day, Majhi plans to leave Rajasthan and return to New Delhi, where he is expected to meet with Union Ministers and key leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to discuss important matters.
In related news, a Group of Ministers (GoM), headed by Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, has recommended a full GST exemption on pure term life insurance policies. The GoM has also suggested reducing the GST rate on individual health insurance premiums from the current 18% to 5%. The report has been submitted to the GST Council, which is expected to address these recommendations at its upcoming meeting on December 21.
