Bhubaneswar, October 15: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new Haryana government in Chandigarh on October 17.

Following this, he will participate in a crucial meeting with Chief Ministers of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) states.

The Chief Minister’s Office announced that Majhi will travel to Haryana on Wednesday, after which he will head to Mumbai for the "India Chem" event on October 18. The event, aimed at exploring investment opportunities in the chemicals and petrochemicals sectors, will feature Union Minister J.P. Nadda and industry leaders. Odisha's Paradip, Gopalpur, and Dhamra regions are being promoted as potential hubs for chemical industry investments.

In addition to his involvement in the India Chem conference, Majhi will participate in an investors' meeting in Mumbai for the Make-in-Odisha conclave scheduled for next year. Over 300 industry heads from sectors such as textiles, renewable energy, and finance are expected to attend. A roadshow is also planned in Mumbai to further promote investment opportunities in Odisha.

Industries Minister Sampad Swain added that discussions are underway with major steel industry players regarding the establishment of a mega steel plant in Keonjhar. A task force, led by the Chief Secretary, has been formed to identify potential sites for the plant.
