Bhubaneswar, December 8:  Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, appealed to farmers not to succumb to provocations from individuals or groups he described as "anti-farmer entities."

Addressing farmers at a Sunday gathering in Sohela, Bargarh district, Singh Deo highlighted the government’s commitment to their welfare and cautioned against misleading campaigns.

During the launch of an Rs 800 additional input assistance scheme for farmers, Singh Deo said, “I urge our farmer brothers not to fall into the trap of leaders who instigate you against the government. Their interests are personal, and not aligned with your well-being. Trust in our government, which is focused on delivering promises, not just words.”

He referenced the Padmapur by-election, where certain leaders reportedly encouraged farmers to oppose BJP candidate Pradeep Purohit. Singh Deo emphasized that these leaders do not genuinely support the farming community, instead using them for political survival.

Reiterating the state government's dedication, he added, “Today, we stand here to fulfill the promises made to you. Our government will always prioritize the welfare of the people and strictly opposes any action that disrupts the law.”
