Bhubaneswar, Mar 15: Governor Haribabu Kambhampati urged the people to enjoy the occasion by using natural colours on occasion of Holi.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday celebrated Holi with police personnel in state capital Bhubaneswar.
"My warmest greetings to everyone on the occasion of the sacred festival of Holi. May this festival of brotherhood and friendship fill everyone’s lives with happiness, peace and joy. I wish everyone a blessed life from Radha Govinda. #Holi," Majhi, who also holds the Home portfolio, said in a post on X.
Further, elaborate security arrangements have been implemented across Odisha to ensure a safe and peaceful Holi celebration, police officials confirmed.
Police personnel have been strategically deployed at major junctions to monitor the festivities closely and prevent any untoward incidents. Authorities have also issued a strong advisory urging people to avoid venturing into water bodies in an inebriated state to prevent cases of drowning.
In the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, security has been heightened, particularly around river ghats and other water bodies. Police personnel are working in coordination with the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) and Odisha Fire and Emergency Service to maintain strict vigilance and respond to any emergencies.
A senior police official stated that 660 police personnel have been deployed in Cuttack and 600 in Bhubaneswar to oversee the Holi celebrations and ensure law and order.
With strict security arrangements in place, the administration is committed to facilitating a joyous yet safe Holi for the people of Odisha.
