CACL outlines vision for child labour free nation: 44-day national campaign begins tomorrow from Odisha’s Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, April 29: At a time when a worldwide movement on anti-child labour becomes the need of the time, Campaign Against Child Labour(CACL), a confederation of social outfits committed to do away with the concern, on  Tuesday outlined vision building roadmaps for a Child labour free Odisha & India as well.

The CACL organized a state-level workshop under the aegis of ‘Vision Building for a child labour free Odisha’ here at the Pantha Niwas Bhubaneswar. Following this, the CACL resolved to roll out a 44-day nationwide campaign to bolster mass awareness on child labour issues.   

On the eve of National Anti-Child Labour Day, scheduled on 30th April   CACL’s National Convenor Ashok Kumar Jha, EduCo Country Head Guru Prashad, Teri Desh Homes Regional Head, State Convenor Gopal Krushna Kar, Sudhir Sabat, Ranjit Patnaik, Ranjan Mohanty, Anushree Banerjee, Dr. BB Acharya, among other ace social activists underlined the child labour issue still rampant across the nation that stands as the prime barrier before child rights and universalisation of primary education to achieve the Social Development Goal(SDG) for a prosperous India. 

Meanwhile, the resource persons highlighted the child labour issues prevalent in Odisha, the underlying causes behind the social issue and the government’s perspective, to do away with the consistent problem.

On the other hand, as many as 40 social activists, working in the field of anti-child labour and child trafficking and CACL’s district convenors shared their views citing ‘How to workout on a zero tolerance to child labours”, for a better Odisha. They all advocated for eradication of child labours in all forms upto the age of 18 years and stricter policies and laws for the offenders those either employ child labours or encourage the social evil in any form.

Worth, mentioning the CACL’s 44-day campaign against child labour, will be flagged off at the state Pantha Niwas, Bhubaneswar on Wednesday wherein social activists, youths, students and common public will configure a human chain to mark the National Anti-Child Labour Day. 

CACL State Convenor, Odisha Gopal Krushna Kar urged the denizens and civil societies to come and join the social campaign at the Pantha Niwas.
