Bhubaneswar, April 29: A delegation from the opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Tuesday visited the family of the four-year-old girl who was brutally raped and murdered in Odisha’s Ganjam district. The party demanded the harshest possible punishment for the perpetrator.
The tragic incident came to light on Sunday when the minor girl’s body was discovered at an under-construction building, police confirmed.
“This heinous act must be treated as one of the rarest of the rare cases,” said former minister and senior BJD leader Snehangini Chhuria. “We will approach the Human Rights Commission to ensure justice for the victim’s family and push for stringent legal action against the accused.”
