Bhubaneswar, April 29: Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja had on Tuesday chaired a pre-cyclone preparedness meeting to assess the readiness of departments for potential cyclones and floods.

Emphasizing lessons from Cyclone Fani (2019), Ahuja called for strong inter-departmental coordination and directed OSDMA to ensure effective grassroots communication.

The review included weather warning systems, Doppler Radar setups at Balasore and Sambalpur, and digital alerts.

Officials stressed enhancing telecom networks, deploying ODRAF teams, and improving flood drainage and coordination among shelters and local bodies.

Preparedness in water resources, food supply, healthcare, and women and child welfare was also discussed.
