Keonjhar, Apr 28: Miscreants allegedly robbed a jeweler of gold and silver ornaments worth over Rs 5 lakh near Naranpur under Keonjhar Town Police limits in Odisha last evening.
According to reports, the victim, identified as Deepak Sahu, was on his way to home on a motorcycle with a bag of gold and silver ornaments. As he neared his house, as many as five bike-borne criminals began following him.
As Deepak tried to escape, he lost control of his motorcycle and fell.
Taking advantage of this, the attackers attacked him and hit him on his head and hand. Thereafter, they grabbed the bag from the motorcycle’s storage box and quickly fled the scene.
Upon getting the information, Keonjhar Town Police arrived at the spot and took stock of the situation.
The CCTV footage has been collected from the nearby hotel and search operation is underway to track down the culprits, said the police.
