Odisha man dies of cobra bite while saving pet cat

Dhauli, July 28: In a shocking incident, a man died of a snake bite while saving his pet cat that was trying to stop a cobra from entering the house. The incident took place on Wednesday at around 1 pm in Purohipur village under Balianta police limits in the Khordha district. According to reports, the deceased Narendra Jena (61), a retired state government employee, saw his cat fighting with a cobra that was trying to enter his home. Narendra rushed to take away the pet in a bid to save the cat from the snake bite. But, unfortunately, the snake bit him on his leg and chest, said a family member. He was immediately rushed to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. However, the attending doctor declared him brought dead.
