Bhubaneswar, Apr 17: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Odisha Assembly Naveen Patnaik today filed his nomination for the post of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President.
Patnaik submitted the nomination papers at Shankh Bhawan for the ninth time.
He is likely to be elected as the President of the conch party unopposed as no one else is contesting for the post.
As per reports, the BJD will officially announce the new President’s name on April 19 (Saturday).
Meanwhile, 18 District Presidents have already been elected unopposed as part of the party’s ongoing 2025 organizational elections.
The State Council and Executive Committee of the party will be formed within the next two days.
