Bhubaneswar: For the first time, the Odisha Para Boccia team is set to represent the state at the national level. The team departed on Wednesday for Visakhapatnam to participate in the 9th National Para Boccia Championship 2024-25, scheduled to be held from January 10 to 15, 2025, at the AMTZ Campus, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Boccia, though an ancient sport, has not seen representation from Odisha at the national stage until now. This marks a historic moment for the state as it steps into the national arena.
The Para Sports Association of Odisha has expressed its confidence in the team’s abilities and is hopeful for a strong performance that will bring glory to the state. This is a significant milestone for Odisha, and the entire association is optimistic about the team’s success in the championship.
