OFC climbs to third place winning over BFC 4-2 goals

Bhubaneswar: A double goal haul by Diego Mauricio guided Odisha FC (OFC) to thrash Bengaluru FC (BFC) 4-2 goals in the Indian Super League at Kalinga Stadium here on Sunday.  With the win the home team gathered 15 points by the end of ten points and claimed third place.  Despite the defeat, playing an equal number of matches BFC remained at the second place with 20 points.

After scripting a massive 6-0 win in the last match against Hyderabad FC, the home team Odisha FC entered the ground with their head high and got an early lead in the 10th minute with the goal by Jerry. 

Again, Odisha FC increased their pace by attacking from both the flanks and got back-to-back corner kicks in the 26th minute. Jahouh took the kick and found Serigne Fall's head in front of the post who made no mistake to give a 2-0 lead to Odisha FC.

Three minutes add to the first half as extra time. Odisha FC's star striker Diego with his lightning speed crossed passed the BFC defenders and scored a goal and the scoreboard read as 3-0 by the end of first-half. 

After the change of sides, Sunil Chhetri the dependable forward of BFC entered the ground and BFC rejuvenated their energy. Chhetri opened the account for BFC in the 52nd minute. 

In a counter attack again with speed, Diego defeated four BFC defenders and scored the fourth goal for OFC in the 60th minute. Desperate BFC team scored their second goal through a header by Edger Mendez in the 88th minute, but it was not enough to restrict OFC to script a 4-2 goals victory at the home ground.
