New Delhi, April 28: Offline registrations for the Char Dham Yatra 2025, set to begin on April 30, officially kicked off on Monday in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Special registration counters have been set up to cater to individuals with disabilities, senior citizens, and foreign nationals. District Tourism Officer Shushil Nautiyal announced that 20 free registration counters have been installed to accommodate tourists.
“The offline registration for the Char Dham Yatra has begun today, with a limit of 1,000 registrations for the first day. This limit may change based on instructions from higher authorities,” Nautiyal said. He also mentioned that Yamunotri and Gangotri will open on April 30 as well.
On the security front, Haridwar SSP Pramod Doval confirmed the preparations for the Yatra, including the review of police arrangements. "Three halting areas have been identified, and CCTV cameras have been installed at key locations. Drones will be used for traffic management to ensure smooth movement," he said. Doval emphasized that ensuring a hassle-free experience for devotees is their top priority, with extensive police deployment across zones and sectors. In addition, five tourist police centres are being established to assist pilgrims throughout the Yatra.
