Bhubaneswar, Jan 2: Three days following the launch of the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) Nabin card by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for families left out of the health assurance scheme in the first two phases, the Health and Family Welfare Department announced the commencement of their registration on January 6.

In a letter to the district collectors, Health Secretary Shalini Pandit revealed that the registration portal www.bskynabin.odisha.gov.in would be accessible from January 6 to January 16. This period allows eligible families to apply for the BSKY Nabin card through online registration.

As per the directive from the health department, the state government is set to allocate Rs 1 lakh to each district for conducting awareness activities between January 1 and January 16.

On December 29, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik introduced the BSKY Nabin initiative, specifying its coverage for all families in rural areas, excluding regular government employees and income taxpayers.

Cardholders will enjoy cashless healthcare for critical ailments in private hospitals. Eligible individuals can avail themselves of an annual cashless coverage of Rs 5 lakh (up to Rs 10 lakh for female family members) for identified critical illnesses in both in-state and out-of-state impaneled private hospitals.
