Bhubaneswar, Dec 14: BJD President Naveen Patnaik on Saturday called on party members to intensify their efforts in securing justice for Odisha's tribal communities, who are at risk of being severely affected by the Polavaram irrigation project in neighboring Andhra Pradesh.
Patnaik’s appeal came after a delegation of party leaders met with him at his residence.
The BJD informed Patnaik on their recent trip to Delhi, where they voiced concerns to the Central Government about the potential impact of the project.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Patnaik emphasized, “The Polavaram project will submerge large parts of Malkangiri and severely impact our tribal brothers and sisters. I met with a delegation from @bjd_odisha, who submitted a demand letter to the Central Government. I urged them to continue fighting for the rights of the people. #BJDWithOdisha.”
