Bhubaneswar: Badminton Association of India (BAI) 20th ranked 19-year-old Pranya Shettigar of Maharashtra and 33rd ranked Prakriti Bharath of Tamil Nadu emerged champion of the boys and girls singles events respectively in the 47th National Junior Badminton Championship, which concluded here on Monday.
Odisha Badminton Association President Rajesh Prabhakar Patil gave away the prizes in presence of Secretary Nalin Kumar, vice-president Manoranjan Panda, joint-secretary Sailendra Choudhury and other dignitaries.
Final Results: Mix-doubles: Vishakha Tappo (Odisha) and Lalramsanga (Mizoram) bt Bhargav Ram (Andhra Pradesh) and K Vennela (Telangana) 21-16,10-21,21-18.
Girls Singles: Prakriti Bharath (Tamil Nadu) bt Alisha Naik (Maharashtra) 18-21, 21-8, 21-8.
Boys Singles: Pranya Shettigar (Maharashtra) bt Tushar Suveer (Karnataka) 21-17,21-12.
Girls Doubles: Lalrempuii (Mizoram) and Tanoo Chandra (Chhattisgarh) bt Durga Esha Kandrapu (Andhra Pradesh) and Taarini Suri (Maharashtra) 23-21, 21-15.
Boys Doubles: Arsh Mohammad (Uttar Pradesh) and Sanskar Saraswat (Rajasthan) bt Mithileish P Krishnan (Pondichéry) and Arul Murugan (Tamil Nadu) 21-16,21-19.
