Pratyasa, Dibyanka wins gold medal each in the University meet

Bhubaneswar: Odia swimmers Pratyasa Ray and   Dibyanka Dibyajyoti Pradhan made the State proud by winning a gold medal each in the All India Inter University Swimming and Diving (M & W) Championship at SRM University at Chennai on Wednesday.

Utkal University student Pratyasa bagged a gold in the 100 backstroke event clocking 01:08.14 sec. Bhakti Rahul Wadkar of Savitribai Phule Pune University and Nisha Shetty of Bangalore City University won silver and bronze medals with a timing of 01:09.18 and 01:10.08 respectively. Pratyasa qualified for the Khelo India University Games.  

Dibyanka Dibyajyoti representing KIIT University won gold in the 200m breaststroke by clocking 2:46.83. The silver and bronze medals were won by Vasupalli Naga Greeshmini of Jain University and Anuskha Sayaji Pati of Shivaji University with 2;49.48 and 2;49.87 respectively.
