Bhubaneswar, Dec 3: President of India, Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday unveiled a statue of Pandit Raghunath Murmu in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar City.
Following her arrival at the Bhubaneswar Airport in the afternoon during the 5-day Odisha visit, Murmu unveiled the full-body statue of the Santhali Litterateur Pandit Murmu at the Niladri Vihar area.
Among others, Odisha GUV Raghubar Das, CM Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy CMs Pravati Parida & KV Singh Deo along with Mayor, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Sulochana Das were present on the occasion.
The President landed in the BPIA in the afternoon where she was received by the Odisha Governor and state higher officials.
During her Odisha visit Murmu will participate in a series of important events, including the Indian Navy Day celebrations in Puri on December 4.
On December 5, President Murmu will attend the 40th Convocation of the Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) in Bhubaneswar. She will also inaugurate the New Judicial Court Complex in the city.
The President will spend December 6 and 7 in her home district of Mayurbhanj before returning to New Delhi on December 7.
