Puri, Mar 11: A priest of the Jagannath Temple in Puri- Sevayat Daitapati Bhabani Das has announced plans to establish a 300-room luxury resort named 'Jagannatham,' designed with a strong spiritual focus.
The resort will offer a "satvik" experience, combining modern comforts with spirituality for pilgrims and travelers.
The resort will be built on a seven-acre beachfront plot along the Puri-Konark Marine Drive and is expected to open before the Rath Yatra of 2026. Developed under Meridian Mist Hotel & Resort, the project has a construction cost of Rs 110 crore, excluding the land.
The overall project valuation is estimated at Rs 200 crore. The resort will feature a range of facilities, including studio and deluxe cottages, a spa, an amphitheatre, a jogging track, a tennis court, and dedicated wellness spaces. It aims to cater to both high-end travelers and spiritual pilgrims.
Das and his family own 100% of the project but are open to equity dilution depending on the response to the resort’s membership program. Memberships are priced at Rs 3.5 lakh, Rs 5 lakh, and Rs 7 lakh, each offering a three-night monthly stay for five years. The initial phase of the project aims to target 5,000 members.
