Bhubaneswar: Nine days to go for Pushpa 2 The Rule to hit the silver screen. The Allu Arjun starred movie is ruling the air now. In the popular IMDb trending ratings, the Pushpa 2 is ruling at an unprecedented rate of 62.9%.
The rating had reached 64.9%, prior to the release of the most awaited item song Kissik. After the release of song preview at a mega event in Chennai, the popular ratings on Tuesday are quoted lower.
Is this down rating is due to mixed reviews on the much awaited song Kissik?
WHAT”S IN A SONG?
The lyrics of Kissik (Hindi) is written by Raqueeb Alam and the music is given by Rockstar DSP. Voice to the Hindi version is lent by Lothika & Sublahshini. Most of the music lovers have given a thumb down to the lyrics, especially when it faces comparison with Pushpa ‘s Oo Ontava (or Oo Oo Bolega.. ). Comments by many viewers were that the Kissik lyrics has no substance vis-à-vis the Oo Ontava (or Bolega). The lyrics is as follows.
Take a sample check below.
Kissa Kissa Kiss Kissik
Lai Lo Lai Lo Lai Lo Taau Ki Photo Le Lo
Lala Kay Sang Le Lo Sala Ke Sang Le Lo
Sasurey Keh Sang Le Lo Saas Ke Sang Le Lo
Apno Ke Sang Paraai Ke Sang Khaasam Khaas Ki Le Lo
Iski Photo Uski Photo Album Mein Tak Dena
Meri Photo Chhupa Ke Sasbe Locker Me Rakh Dena
Jo Agar Kisi Ki Nazar Padi Photo Pe Toh Sun
Thappad Marungi Sala Thappad Marungi
Now, a flashback to the lyrics of Oo Ontava (or Bolega)
Saree Saree Pehan Ke Saree
Aaye Toh Usko Ghoore
Chhote Chhote Skirt Bhi Jo
Pehan Ke Aaye Toh Ghoore
Chhod Saaree Chhod Skirt
Inn Kapdon Se Kya Hota
Nazrein Gandi Soch Gandi
Mard Hai Bin Pendi Lota
Oo Bolega Ya
Oo Oo Bolega Sala
A sample check of both the lyrics shows the Pushpa 1 song Oo Ontava has some message – the message regarding the OBJECTIFICATION of woman.
On the contrary, the Song Kissik reminds one of Superstar Govinda’s song “Mein Yeh Karoon, Woh Karoon Meri Marzi”, but a deeper scan shows Govinda’s song had a very interesting lyrics compared to Kissik - where the lyrics has nothing (no meaning) to convey to masses.
Besides lyrics, many have compared SreLeela’s performance with that of Samantha’s. Many viewers commented that SriLeela is no match to Samantha. Most complain about the missing chemistry Allu Arjun had with Samantha in the item song of Pushpa 1.
However, after the launch of the song, Samantha had said this on her Instagram post.
Taking to her Instagram storiesSamantha Ruth Prabhu reshared Sreeleela and Allu Arjun’s song Kissik, and itseems she had highly liked their performance and chemistry. Atop the post, Sam penned, “@sreeleela14 Killed it. Keep calm and wait for #pushpa2 @alluarjunonline.”
KISSIK HINDI LAGS BEHIND JHOOME JO PATHAN
The Jhoome jo Pathan song of Shahrukh Khan garnered 18mn views within 20 hours. The hindi views of song Kissik after 48 hrs stand at over 13.3 mn. This shows the Hindi version of the song fails to sustain the trailer craze of Pushpa 2 that broke records of Jawan and Pathan.
KISSIK SOUTH INDIA SHOW
Even as the movie watchers have vetoed the song on two aspects – lyrics and chemistry, the Kissik song south India version has proved a record smashing hit.
The song has turned into hysteria in south India with a stunning 27.19 million views in 24 hours! It has created a record in South India. (see the image)
In 24 hours, with 27.19 million views the song has nailed three massive records in the history of Telugu and South Indian music world. Composed by Devi Sri Prasad, the song has been crooned by Sublahsini in Telugu, and the Telugu lyrics was penned by Chandrabose.
PUSHPA 1 OO ONTAVA SONG VIEWS
As per the reports, the official version of Oo Antava from Pushpa: The Rise has become a rage over the years, with almost 300+ million views on various official channels.
WHY SRELEELA, NOT SAMANTHA?
As per a report by Siasat, Sreeleela’s paycheck for her dance number is said to be less than what was awarded to Samantha in the earlier installment of the film.
Whereas Samantha charged Rs. 5 crore for her song Oo Antava in Pushpa 1: The Rise, Sreeleela, on the other hand, received a paycheck of Rs. 2 crore for performing in Kissik.
