Bhubaneswar: Indian shuttler Rithvik Sanjeevi Satish Kumar emerged champion of the men’s singles event by winning over his country-mate Tharun Mannepalli 21-18, 21-16 in the Odisha Masters, which concluded on Sunday at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack. CAI Yan Yan of China claimed the women’s singles title by defeating Tanvi Sharma of India 21-14, 21-16.
The seventh seed China pair Huang Di and Liu Yang eliminated Japanese duo Kakeru Kumagai and Hiroki Nishi 21-13, 19-21, 27-25 and won the title.
Similarly in the women’s doubles final, Japanese team Nanako Hara and Riko Kiyose edged out Chinese team Keng Shu Liang and Chnwang Ting Ge by 21-11, 21-19.
Racing from the back, the China pair Chngao Jia Xuan and Chntang Rui Zhi upset sixth seed Singapore team Hee Yong Kai Terry and Jin Yu Jia in the mixed-doubles final by scripting a 15-21, 21-15, 21-15 victory.
