Bhubaneswar, Ap 22: In a significant crackdown on wildlife crime, the STF officials seized a Royal Bengal Tiger skin, teeth and nails on Tuesday and arrested two individuals involved in the illegal trade.
Acting on intelligence inputs, a special team comprising personnel conducted a covert operation. They apprehended two individuals red-handed with a Royal Bengal Tiger skin at Phulbani.
A case has been filed against the accused under the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972.
The seizure of the skin has again pointed to the threat the striped predators face in Simlipal, the biggest tiger reserve in the state.
