Bhubaneswar, November 25: Ahead of the second session of the 17th Odisha Assembly starting tomorrow, the state police have ramped up security measures to ensure smooth proceedings and prevent any untoward incidents.
Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania has conducted a review of the arrangements at the State Legislative Assembly today, emphasizing a robust three-tier security framework around the premises.
“The Commissionerate Police has implemented extensive arrangements for the Assembly session. A three-layered security plan has been devised to maintain law and order. Around 30 platoons of police personnel and over 300 officers will be deployed for the session. Additional security arrangements have been made at designated dharna sites to manage protests effectively,” said DGP Khurania.
Senior officials, including Police Commissioner S. Dev Datta Singh, ADG (Law & Order) Sanjay Kumar, and Bhubaneswar DCP Pinak Mishra, were present during the security briefing.
In addition to Assembly premises, police have tightened security at key locations across the city, including bus stops and major intersections, to avert potential disruptions during the session.
