New Delhi, April 10: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) announced on Thursday that it has successfully secured the extradition of Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a key figure involved in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
In a statement, the NIA emphasized that this extradition was the result of years of diligent and coordinated efforts aimed at bringing one of the main conspirators of the horrific attacks to justice.
The agency highlighted the role of various authorities in facilitating the process. "With the active support of the U.S. Department of Justice (USDoJ) and the U.S. Sky Marshal, the NIA worked closely alongside other Indian agencies such as the NSG, as well as India's Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs. This multi-agency collaboration ensured that the extradition was successfully concluded," the statement said.
Although reports suggest that Rana has arrived in Delhi, the NIA did not confirm his exact location.
