Mumbai, January 22: At least 10 feared dead and several passengers are reported critical after they jumped off a running train at Jalgaon on Wednesday.
The major accident took place at Paranda railway station in Maharashtra's Jalgaon area in the evening.
According to reports, a rumour of a fire on the Pushpak Express led to the panic, causing frightened passengers to jump out of the train. Meanwhile, some of the passengers were struck by the Karnataka Express, which was passing on the other adjacent track.
The situation escalated after an alarm chain was pulled on the Pushpak Express, said sources.
