Puri, Nov 27: The Trinity in Puri Jagannath Temple on Monday was bedecked with Raja Rajeswar attire on the occasion of Kartika Purnima.
As the month-long rituals of Kartik ended today on the Rasa Purnima festival, Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra with the Lord Sudarshan came up before the devotees with Suna Besha.
Sources said that all the rituals related to the Boita Bandana and Rasa Purnima began in the wee hours of Sunday. The deities, after being offered puja and bhogs in the morning, were readied for the Suna Besha. The core servitors of the Trinity decorated the deities along with their divine weapon Sudarshan, with golden pendants and beads, on the Ratna Mandap. Similarly, the Kartik Purnima rituals were performed before the Radha-Krishna and Maa Laxmi Temple late at night.
Tens of thousands of devotees throng the Grand Road and the sanctum sanctorum of the Shree Mandir at Puri to have darshan of the Trinity on Suna Besha, wherein the deities were bedecked with gold-plated ornaments and given the looks of kings and queens.
