Cuttack, Ap 17: The Commissionerate Police encountered two dreaded criminals late Wednesday night in the Choudwar area of Cuttack.
The accused have been identified as Sangram Raut alias 'Kataas' and Subhranshu Parida alias ‘Jubula’.
Acting on a tip-off, the Commissionerate Police’s special squad carried out a swift operation to nab the duo when they reportedly opened fire on the police, the police retaliated and shot the duo.
According to police sources, the duo was involved in over 30 criminal cases, including murder, extortion, and illegal arms possession.
The duo has been rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital (MCH) for further treatment.
Police seized two country-made guns and bullets from their possession.
Investigation into the incident is underway.
