UP CM Yogi Adityanath, ‘Ramayan’ fame Arun Govil to campaign in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, May 21: Ahead of the third phase polling in Odisha, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has roped in Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and ‘Ramayan’ fame Arun Govil to hit the campaign trail.

This was informed by BJP’s vice-president Golak Mohapatra.

While Arun Govil, who is well-known for playing the role of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s epic TV serial ‘Ramayan’, will arrive in the state on May 22, CM Yogi is scheduled to visit Odisha on May 23.

As per the schedule, Arun Govil, BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Meerat, is scheduled to campaign in Champua, Telkoi, Dhenkanal, and Jayadev Assembly constituencies.

A day after that, CM Yogi will campaign in Chilika and Salipur Assembly constituencies and seek votes for BJP candidates.

Meanwhile, BJP National President JP Nadda and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma are also scheduled to visit Odisha on May 23 to campaign for the third phase elections. 

As per reports, Nadda is scheduled to address public rallies in Karanjia, Dhamnagar, Barchana and Balikuda and Sarma will attend public meetings in Deogarh and Barbil.

In the third phase of elections in Odisha, polling will be held in Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Puri and Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha constituencies and 42 Assembly constituencies under them on May 25.

Notably, the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha are being conducted in four phases -- May 13, 20, 25, and June 1. The counting of votes will be done on June 4.
