Rayagada, Mar 14: In a tragic incident, a youth hailing from Andhra Pradesh reportedly drowned while bathing in the Nagavali River at Mariguda near Odisha’s Rayagada town today.
The deceased has been identified as Sai Krishna (18).
As per reports, Krishna had visited the revered Maa Majhighariani temple with his family. While taking a dip in the Nagavali River near the hanging bridge, he got swept away by the strong current.
Upon getting the information, police and fire department officials arrived at the spot and launched a rescue operation. After hours of efforts, his body was recovered.
The police then seized the body and sent it for post-mortem to a nearby hospital.
