Bhubaneswar: The Odisha-based franchise in the upcoming Hockey India League, Vedanta Kalinga Lancers unveiled their official jersey and team anthem here on Thursday in a grand event held at Kalinga Stadium.
The home jersey features a striking combination of blue and green, while the away jersey retains the vibrant orange and white. The jersey was officially revealed by Sports and Youth Services Minister Suryabanshi Suraj.
The new jersey design intricately blends history, art, geography, and progress, paying tribute to Odisha’s rich heritage and forward-looking aspirations.
Former India captain, goalkeeper, coach and Arjuna awardee, Dr. A.B. Subbaiah the Vedanta Kalinga Lancers team manager. Commenting on his new role, Subbaiah expressed “being the defending champion all eyes will be on your players. We are having overseas experienced players in our team. They will act like a driving force of the team”.
Congratulations to Vedanta. Subhaiah said eight young players from Odisha are in the team, they will have the opportunities to learn from many experienced players”.
Among others, Sunil Gupta, COO - Vedanta Aluminium and Director – Kalinga Lancers, Sports and Youth services Secretary Bhaskar Joyti Sarma, along with the Indian players were present.
