Bhubaneswar, Apr 2: In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly killed by her husband at Antarla village under Deogaon police limits in Odisha’s Balangir district late Tuesday night.
The incident occurred while the woman was asleep at home. The accused attacked her with an axe and killed her on the spot.
According to the information, the couple had a heated argument after dinner. However, the husband in a fit of rage attacked her with an axe.
Getting information, police reached the spot, seized the body and took her husband into custody.
The body has been sent for autopsy.
While the exact reason behind the cruel act is yet to be ascertained, it has been suspected that it might be an incident of domestic violence.
Further investigation is on in this regard.
