Mumbai, Oct 24: Online food delivery platforms Zomato and Swiggy have raised their platform fees in select cities during the festive season. In the national capital, Zomato is now charging a Rs 10 platform fee.
In a regulatory filing addressing reports about this increase, Zomato confirmed, "We have indeed raised the platform fee as of yesterday (Wednesday) in certain cities." The Rs 10 fee is labeled as a "festive season platform fee."
Zomato noted that adjustments to the platform fee are a normal business practice and can vary by location, though they did not specify which other cities are affected or the amounts of any changes.
Similarly, Swiggy has also increased its platform fee, but the company did not respond to inquiries for further comment.
