Malkangiri, Dec 29: The 53rd annual conference of the All Odisha Lawyers Association was organized in Malkangiri on Sunday.
Justice Sibo Sankar Mishra of the Orissa High Court, and former Justice of the Supreme Court G Gowda graced the occasion wherein at least 1300 Lawyers from across the state had joined.
The grand conference of the All Odisha Lawyers Association was held at Dandakaranya Maidan, the headquarters of Malkangiri district for the first time. Senior Justice of the High Court Sibo Sankar Mishra joined here as chief guest, while retired Justice of the Supreme Court V Gopal Gowda attended as chief speaker.
High Court Bar Association member Bibhuprasad Tripathi, Bar Council member P Ramesh Kumar Patra, High Court Bar Association President B.K. Dash, Bar Council Vice President R.K. Mohanty, Odisha Bar Council Chairman Sitanshu Mohan Dwivedy joined the occasion and laid emphasis on providing facilities and opportunities for all the law practitioners of the state, including their social security, pension, health insurance and other demands.
While addressing the wise counsels, Justice Mishra said, the place of lawyers in the judicial system is significant. They act as a bridge between those seeking justice(clients) and the judiciary. Therefore, our justice delivery system depends on the skills and services of the lawyers.
All Odisha Lawyers Association State President Gyan Ranjan Mohanty and N N Satpathi delivered the welcome note. Malkangiri District Lawyers Association President Nrusingh Charan Mohanty presented the introductory talk on the program.
Meanwhile, the souvenir of the association was unwrapped by the panel of guests. All Odisha Lawyers Association State General Secretary Sanjit Kumar Panigrahi proposed the vote of thanks. Later, various cultural programs were performed.
Worth mentioning, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Chandra Pujari and other prominent persons are scheduled to be present as guests in the valedictory session slated to be held on Monday.
