Bhubaneswar: When the franchise movies are ruling roost in Indian cinema right from Gadar, Stree, Bhool Bhulaiyaa to Pushpa, Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn’s cryptic post on Instagram on the ist anniversary of his superhit movie Shaitaan left tongues wagging.
It was on this day on March 8, 2024, Ajay Devgn, Madhavan and Jyotika starred Shaitaan had hit the silverscreen. The supernatural thriller Shaitaan went on to become a big hit minting a net of 148cr at the box office with 90 lakh footfalls. The movie grossed an estimated 37.50 crores overseas taking the worldwide approximate gross to Rs 213.50 crores.
The film (a remake of the Gujarati horror Vash) impressed audiences with its gripping story and powerful performances. The film was directed by Vikas Bahl.

SHAITAAN 2 COMING
Celebrating his horror thriller’s first anniversary, Ajay Devgn shared an eerie video on Instagram. The video clip shows R Madhavan sporting long white hair and a beard, locked in a prison. Ajay Devgn wearing spectacles is seen saying, “Now this is your hell, and I am your Shaitaan.” The video then flashes scenes from Shaitaan before ending with a message marking the film’s one-year milestone.
Even as the teaser has introduced a new twister, nowhere it has directly mentioned that Shaitaan 2 will be made. But the deep conversation between Ajay Devgn and Madhavan hints at the sequel coming.
Moreover, Ajay has also dropped a big hint: Ek Saal Se Shaitaan Kaid hai, Hai Kya?

FRANCHISE SHAITAAN IN MAKING
It needs mentioning that reports have earlier suggested that Shaitaan 2 and even Shaitaan 3 are already in the works. The huge success of the first film has led to the creation of a horror franchise under the banner Panorama Studios.
The franchis ready but the details about the story and cast of the sequels are still under wraps. Fans are rejoiced that if Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan return, the next film could take the horror to another level.
As pe reports, Panorama Studios is also expanding its horror lineup by acquiring the remake rights to the Turkish horror film Dabbe. Dabbe released in 2006 has become a cult classic and wad made into several sequels.
