Bhubaneswar: The much-hyped mythological flick Kannappa, which also stars Prabhas, has been the talk of the town since its announcement.
While the film was previously scheduled for a December release, but the makers have postponed the release date to avoid clash with Allu arjun’s Pushpa 2 The Rule and Ram Charan’s Game Changer in Ja, will be releasing on 25 April 2025.
Ahead of its theatrical release, the makers of Kannappa finally announced the first glimpse of ‘Akshay Kumar’ as ‘Lord Shiva’, which is all set to drop on January 20th, 2025!
Taking on to X and Instagram, 24 Frames Factory, the producers of Kannappa, wrote:

ABOUT MOVIE KANNAPA
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by Ava Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory, the epic tale will release worldwide on April 25, 2025, in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and English.
Kannappa was shot originally in Telugu. The film boasts an impressive lineup of stars.
While popular Telugu star Vishnu Manchu is in the titular role, cameos come from some of the biggest names in Indian cinema.
Akshay Kumar himself will appear in a special role as Lord Shiva, while Prabhas portrays Nandi, and Mohanlal takes on another pivotal cameo. Kajal Aggarwal will grace the screen as Goddess Parvati, adding to the film’s celestial appeal.
A mythological fantasy film helmed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film is based on the tale of a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva.
This is a big-budget venture.
AKSHAY KUMAR AS LORD SHIVA
It needs mentioning here that Akshay Kumar has previously essayed the role of Lord Shiva in OMG 2 – 2023 film starring Yami Gautam, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aarush Varma – and was the sequel to OMG that was released in 2012.
In the poster released, Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva looks good. But only the glimpse on Jan 20 will tell how far the top actor has jsutified with the persona of Lord Shiva.

As per the buzz, despite being a mythological flick, a special portion of Kannappa had been shot in Paris.
