Bhubaneswar, Jan 28: Days after the robbery incident at former PCC President Niranjan Patnaik's house, a youth was arrested late on Monday night for attempting a burglary in the VIP Colony of Nayapalli, Sector 25 in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar.
Sources said, the youth who was attempting to steal was apprehended by Patnaik’s staff. He immediately contacted the police and a PCR van reached the spot.
The Nayapalli police have since detained the suspect and are currently interrogating him.
Worth mentioning, on the night of January 28, a robbery occurred at the residence of senior Congress member Niranjan Patnaik in the Nayapalli area. The robbery resulted in the theft of valuables worth lakhs.
Police officials have assured a comprehensive investigation into both incidents and are working to determine if there is any connection between the two. In the meantime, security at the leader's residence has been heightened to prevent any future incidents.
