Bhubaneswar, January 20: Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Anurag Thakur launched the ‘Samvidhan Gaurav Abhiyan’ campaign in Odisha on Monday. The BJP is set to observe a two-week-long campaign to commemorate 75 years of the Indian Constitution and pay tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the lead-up to Republic Day.
At the launch event, Thakur criticized the Congress for its long tenure in power, claiming that the party failed to address the concerns of Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC), neglecting these communities.
As part of the campaign, the BJP plans to organize seminars and intellectual gatherings at 50 locations to raise awareness about the Constitution and counter the Congress’s alleged efforts to undermine constitutional values. During this period, top BJP leaders will address seminars in 10 locations, while state leaders will attend events in other areas. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with ministers, MLAs, and MPs, will join the campaign at various sites across Odisha.
It is noted that the party leaders such as BJP National General Secretary and Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya will attend an event in Rourkela on January 22, while Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, will participate in the Sambalpur event on January 27.
The campaign is also aimed at reaching rural areas and engaging students by emphasizing the principles of the Constitution.
