<strong>BJD’s Sulochana Das elected as BMC Mayor</strong>

Bhubaneswar, Mar 26: BJD candidate Sulochana Das has been elected as Mayor of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday. It has been revealed after the State Election Commission declared the poll result in the evening. According to the particulars given by the SEC, Sulochana won the election beating her contestant, Suniti Mund of Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) by over 61,087 votes, getting 1,74,487 votes in total. At the time, BJP candidate Suniti Mund bagged 1, 13,406 votes while Congress candidate, Madhusmita Acharya remained in the third position getting 11,006 votes in her favour. The thumping victory of Das in the Urban Local Body election concluded today, has encouraged the BJD fraternity for a thrilling celebration.
